Meet the Founder
Ivaylo Petkov is the Founder and Creative Director of Maison Yves.
From an early age, Ivaylo dreamed of becoming a fashion designer—creating beautiful garments that inspire confidence and celebrate individuality. His passion for fashion was nurtured by his grandmother, who introduced him to the art of tailoring, pattern cutting, and garment construction. Under her guidance, he developed the foundations of the craftsmanship that continue to influence his work today.
In 2006, Ivaylo was accepted into the High School of Light Industry in his hometown, where he trained as a dressmaker and pattern cutter. After graduating in 2009, he moved to London to pursue his ambition of building a career in fashion. Immersing himself in the city's rich cultural and creative landscape, he continued to refine his skills and expand his understanding of design.
In 2018, Ivaylo was accepted into Arts University Bournemouth, where he studied Fashion Design. During his studies, he completed an internship with Lee Paton Couture in 2019, gaining valuable experience in couture techniques, craftsmanship, and luxury garment construction.
After graduating with a BA (Hons) in Fashion Design in 2021, Ivaylo founded Maison Yves with a vision to create timeless, made-to-measure womenswear that combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary elegance.
Continuing his commitment to excellence, Ivaylo spent a year in Rome in 2025 studying for a Master's programme in Alta Moda at Accademia Costume & Moda. Immersed in the traditions of Italian couture, he further refined his expertise in luxury craftsmanship, couture construction, and the artistry that defines some of the world's most celebrated fashion houses.
Today, every Maison Yves creation reflects a unique blend of British design experience, Italian couture influence, and traditional tailoring techniques. Through Maison Yves, Ivaylo offers a highly personalised experience, creating garments that celebrate individuality, confidence, and exceptional craftsmanship.
